English-language editing

In the Netherlands many people speak a fair amount of English. However, articles, reports, and other texts written by them in English often contain a certain degree of 'Dutch English', the so-called Dunglish.
Although perfectly understandable to other Dutch people, these texts are often at best puzzling and at worst misunderstood by, or even completely incomprehensible to an international audience. Over the years I've become an expert at debugging such a text, removing the Dunglish, and retrieving its true message, so that it may reach the readers for whom it was intended.

Working method

I offer you high quality and a professional service. I do all the work myself; Dunfield Editing is not an agency and does not farm out any jobs to third parties.
Generally, I work in Microsoft Office Word and make corrections in 'track changes'. In this way, you can clearly see what I have altered and, where required, I will add comments with questions or recommendations.
However, if you prefer, I can also work in pdf; in either Adobe Acrobat X Pro or Nuance PDF Converter Professional 7.

Costs

After I have received your text – or a sample of it – you will be presented with a cost estimate. Prices vary, depending on the nature of the text, the amount of work it requires, and sometimes on your deadline.
